The Chilterns Gateway at Dunstable Downs

The images shows a tactile map of the view seen from this high point on the Dunstable Down. The map has the bumpy hills which characterise the area as well as the names and symbols for many of the landmarks.
Feel the View at Dunstable Downs
The Chilterns Gateway at Dunstable Downs

Although work was completed at the Chilterns Gateway visitors centre on Dunstable Downs more than a year ago, September this year was our first chance to see the completed work. We were involved with the production of the tactile plans of the layout of the building, the design of the audio playback and the English audio description, tactile images of the historical figures, the images along the accessible path and the Feel the View Toposcope. We worked with Peter Phillipson of TellTale, Jeremy Sutton, then of the National Trust, Matthew Lloyd of Think Graphic and Photocast Products Ltd., as well as Black Box Av.
