The Dog Rose Trust has been awarded a Highly Commended in the Craftsman Category at the Sign Industry Awards 2008.

The presentation of these prestige awards for excellence in sign-making was held at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry on Wednesday September 3rd.

The Trust entered panels designed by Matthew Lloyd for Natural England's reserve at Shapwick Heath in Somerset. The project consisted of four panels showing the birds, animals and plants that can be found In the area and included text and Braille. The colourful panels were made by Photocast of Liverpool and were installed in a wooden Gateway to the board walk at Shapwick Heath.

The project also included two Chatterboxes with audio and copper panels created by a local school with coppersmith Richard Taylor.

The Trust is very pleased that recognition has been given to the only accessible signs to be short-listed in the awards.
